We are based in the West of Ireland and offer courses in many beautiful towns and cities. We look forward to welcoming school teachers and staff from all over Europe to spend time in our lovely country studying one of our great courses and networking and sharing best practice with fellow European colleagues.

We are also delivering courses in great locations outside of Ireland too!

Teachers from Ireland can obtain Erasmus+ funding to attend our courses outside Ireland. Have a look at the choice of locations here.

Teachers from other European countries can obtain Erasmus+ funding to attend any of our courses here in Ireland or in a country other than their own.

Martina Kilian

Martina Kilian holds an honors degree in Outdoor Education and is the founder of NATURE INSPIRES. Since 2016, she welcomes groups to come along for guided nature
walks, nature retreats or just a ‘go on an adventure’ stroll around her base in South County Sligo. Her nature camps throughout the summer months are very popular with
children aged 5-14 years. While roaming around, children can experience through play and adventure rich place-based learning. On her smallhold farm she also introduces
customers to the various free roaming animals, who also can play a part in our wellbeing. Recently she published a children’s-book ‘Trees don’t bite…but they do love to giggle’, a fictional story about an adventurous girl, discovering that the nature can sometimes
truly be magical.

What can participants and educators expect when enrolling for ‘My Eco-way of life’:
During our weeklong learning we will spend most of the time outdoors journeying through partially ‘wild nature’ experiencing various habitats, i.e, raised and blanket
bogs, forests, plantations, marshland and hedgerows. While using all our senses the participants will learn not just about the biodiversity, ecology, history and geography of
the area, but also ways to relax in nature, be mindful and protective of our precious environment. Being creative within nature will also be highlighted by introducing
‘Creativity on the go’. This exercise will encourage everyone to unleash their ‘inner child’ to play and create something meaningful.
As an advanced Leave-No-Trace trainer, the group will spend one day completing a certified Awareness training, allowing them to continue their learning with LNT by becoming a trainer at a later stage. Another day will focus on ‘green school projects’ exploring ideas like developing a
(permaculture) school garden or how to designate an area within the schoolyard for rewilding, a wildlife corner, a bird observation station or any other individual idea is
welcome for discussion.. One day will be spent ‘up the Ox Mountains’, experiencing the sheer wilderness of one
of the oldest mountain ranges in Europe. To finish off our adventure we will attend a seaside safari with an optional dip in the sea.
